This privacy statement deals with SparFinans' processing of personal data.

Personal data means information that can be linked directly or indirectly to you, such as name, address, telephone number, IP address and email address.

Below we explain, among other things, which personal data we collect, why we do it and what we use the information for. You can contact us for further information about the processing of your personal data. The contact details are at the bottom of this statement.

The privacy statement applies to everyone who initiates a loan application via

the application form on our website.

  1. What information is stored and how the information is used Information you provide yourself when you start the application form will usually be:

  • Employment conditions
  • Education
  • Norwegian citizen: Yes/No
  • Annual income
  • Marital status
  • Housing conditions
  • Children under 18 in the home
  • The sum of car/boat/motorcycle loans
  • The sum of other unsecured loans
  • Bank account

Some of the information we ask for is based on our dynamic application form. This means that you will not necessarily be asked to provide all of the above information.

Information that SparFinans itself collects:

  • IP address (taken from the browser session) • Time  

(date of registration) 

Information we collect from other sources:

Full name, address and credit details, including payment notes. This information  is obtained only for the main applicant.

The information we receive from you or collect is stored in our database.

By approving our privacy statement, you also accept that we collect information about the status of your loan application from our bank partners so that we, as a financial agent, can process your application.

The information we receive from you or collect is stored in our database. They will also be sent to our business partner, SparFinans.

  1. The purpose of the processing of personal data and the legal basis  for the processing 

We use the information about you for the following purposes: 

If you complete the application, we will send it to our business partner, SparFinans. SparFinans is a loan agent registered with the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority.

SparFinans will collect credit information about you from Experian AS. If SparFinans needs more information from you, they will contact you during the application process by phone, e-mail

or SMS. SparFinans can send your application to its bank partners, who assess it and can choose to offer a loan.

After you have registered a loan application on our website, we send the application to SparFinans, which in turn can forward it to its bank partners. These banks assess the application and offer loans.

The basis for processing is consent. You must give consent for each individual purpose in order for the processing to be legal. It is completely voluntary to give consent for one or more purposes, and consent can be withdrawn at any time.

  1. Who will access the information 

SparFinans only shares your personal data with other companies to the extent necessary to fulfill the purpose of processing your personal data.

These companies can be divided into two groups: 

  1. Financial Institutions 

SparFinans shares all information you provide or we collect with SparFinans and their banking partners. These financial institutions can only use the information to assess whether they will make a loan offer and to determine the detailed conditions for borrowing. The bank is

  1. Technical System Vendors 

We share your contact details with our and SparFinans' technical system suppliers. These are shown in the overview below.

  • Google, Inc. stores the information in connection with the operation of e-mail •  

Mailchimp uses the information to send you email on our behalf. •  

Facebook, Inc. uses the information to offer chat dialogue as well as target advertising to  you on our behalf.

Sharing of personal data will also take place when it is required by law or regulation, or it is required on the basis of a final decision.

Any division beyond the above will not be made without your specific consent.

The data processors are bound by data processor agreements and may not use your information for their own purposes, or purposes that conflict with the purpose stated in this privacy statement.

  1. Archiving and deletion routines 

SparFinans has routines for archiving and deleting personal data.

The personal data is kept for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes stated  in point 2 above. However, SparFinans does not store the personal data for longer than 6 months, unless you yourself request to be deleted earlier, or otherwise follows from the law.

SparFinans reserves the right to de-identify the information so that the information can be used for statistical purposes.

  1. How the information is stored and secured 

SparFinans values the privacy of its customers and ensures that their privacy is secured in accordance with the requirements of current legislation.

SparFinans assures in this connection that the information is stored securely in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and that the information does not come to the knowledge of unauthorized persons. In addition, SparFinans ensures that the information is stored in systems that have the necessary information security in terms of confidentiality, integrity and availability.

SparFinans requires its employees and affiliated parties to comply with the laws, regulations and internal guidelines that apply to the processing of personal data.

SparFinans has introduced organizational and technical routines that ensure that your personal data does not go astray, is not changed unintentionally and that it is available when it is needed.

  1. Your rights as a registered customer/client 

As registered, you have the right to access, correct, delete, data portability, demand processing of personal data limited and oppose certain forms of processing.

You have the right to access the personal data we have stored about you and the right to access the use  of that personal data. By contacting our customer service, you can request such access. You can also demand that personal data that is not correct be corrected, that SparFinans delete the data and withdraw consent you have previously given.

SparFinans will, as a general rule, delete your information if you request it, unless continued storage is necessary to document services provided or further storage is otherwise required by law.

Furthermore, you have the right to complain to the Norwegian data supervisory authority if you believe that your personal data has been processed in violation of the rules that follow from Norwegian law.
